MS983 – Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Concrete frame, steel frame, medium to high-rise design and existing structures, working across sectors such as residential, commercial, refurbishment and industrial.
- Using software to assist with calculations and structural design such as MasterSeries, SCIA, or Strand7.
- You will be preparing, detailing and reviewing drawings, supervising CAD Technicians in the preparation of these drawings.
- Assisting in the preparation of design quotes, writing reports and technical specifications.
- Supervising, mentoring and checking work for Graduates, Engineers and Technicians.
- You will be working collaboratively with Engineers in other disciplines such as geotechnical and civil/infrastructure design.
- Attending client and project meetings to build relationships and discuss their needs, requirements and any design issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in civil/structural Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience. You could be Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE.
- You will have hands-on design experience and the ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
