YMCA Robin Hood Group
YMCA Robin Hood Group runs an amazing school holiday camp for children aged 4-15 called Camp Williams. Based from the Beckett School in West Bridgford and the YMCA Community & Activity Village in Newark, we give the older children aged 8-15 the chance to pick activities they might like to try for the first time or practice an old favourite activity!
Our children love watersports, especially paddleboarding and canoeing. We are looking for an additional Watersports Leader to ensure we can accommodate all the children who wish to choose watersports and ensure they have the best time at Camp Williams.
We are looking for a qualified Watersports/Paddlesports Leader to lead the watersport sessions we offer. Working with a Paddle Sports Instructor, you will work together to ensure the children have a fun and safe time during their watersports session. This will be for children aged 8-15, working with groups of up to 12 participants. You will need to plan and structure the sessions so the children have fun, remain safe, learn and build on existing skills as well as feel a sense of pride in their achievements.
You’ll help inspire young people to try watersports for the first time and develop their own existing skills in a fun, supportive and confidence building environment. Being a natural cheerleader, you will praise, encourage and celebrate the big and small wins!
This is a high energy, hands-on role delivering fun, safe and memorable sessions to the Campers! You are going to have as much fun as the children in your care.
You will need a Paddle Sports Instructor qualification as a minimum as well as experience in coaching, teaching or leading youth sessions in paddle sports.
There is also the option for you to return to work for us each school holiday and become a long-term member of our Camp team!
We operate through every Nottinghamshire County Council school holiday, based from the Beckett School. The camp day is 7.30am to 6pm and we operate Monday to Friday.
Please note, you must be over 18 to apply for this role. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service. We reserve the right to withdraw this role before the closing date should we be able to appoint to the role.
