Mitchell Adam are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected housing organisation, currently seeking an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive environment, taking ownership of key service charge accounting responsibilities while also providing guidance and support to a small team.
Working closely with experienced senior finance professionals, you will play an integral role in the preparation and management of service charge accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with relevant legislation, and the effective delivery of financial information. Alongside your day-to-day accounting responsibilities, you will contribute to process improvements, collaborate with operational teams across the business, and support the continuous development of the service charge function.
Skills Needed
- Part-qualified or qualified by experience within a service charge or property finance environment.
- Strong understanding of service charge accounting, including budgeting, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and month-end processes.
- Previous experience working within a regulated environment, ideally within social housing or the wider property sector.
- Confident communicator with previous experience supporting or supervising junior team members and building relationships with stakeholders across the business.
