Service Charge Accountant / Bookkeeper
Location: East Hertfordshire
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 DOE

Overview An established Property Management company in East Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Service Charge Accountant / Bookkeeper to support the financial management of a residential block portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing year-end accounts, managing ledgers, producing budgets and ensuring financial compliance across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end service charge accounts and liaise with external accountants
- Manage income and expenditure ledgers, accruals and prepayments
- Produce service charge budgets and financial forecasts
- Complete bank reconciliations and monitor cashflow
- Process supplier invoices, payments and contractor queries
- Respond to leaseholder account queries in a professional manner
- Support Property Managers with financial reporting and portfolio updates
- Ensure all financial records comply with RICS and ARMA guidelines
Experience and Skills Required
- Strong background in Service Charge Accounting or Property Accounts
- In-depth working knowledge of Qube (essential)
- Experience using Sage (highly desirable)
- Confident preparing year-end accounts and service charge budgets
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Organised, proactive and able to manage a busy workload
