Work on some of the UK's most advanced naval electrical systems.

We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer or Commissioning Engineer to support, commission and maintain specialist electrical and electromechanical equipment installed on naval vessels, submarines and complex marine platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer, Marine Engineer, Defence Engineer or Service Engineer looking for a technically challenging, customer-facing role with excellent autonomy and variety.

Please note: This role is subject to UK Security Clearance. Therefore, applicants must be British Citizens and capable of meeting the requirements for UK Security Clearance. No sponsorship for UK working visas.

The Role

As a Service & Commissioning Engineer, you'll be responsible for commissioning, fault finding and maintaining complex electrical systems across customer sites throughout the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical commissioning
  • Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
  • Preventative maintenance
  • PLC fault finding and basic PLC modifications
  • Electrical testing and inspection
  • Technical support
  • Customer training
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Writing technical reports
  • Electrical surveys
  • Reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Supporting continuous product improvements

This is a home-based role with UK travel and occasional overseas assignments.

  • Customer-facing engineering
  • Preventative maintenance

Essential Skills

  • HNC, NVQ or equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification (or qualified by experience)
  • Minimum five years' experience maintaining complex electrical equipment
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
