Service Manager / FM Business Development Lead
Location: Northampton (with travel to UK sites)
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + package

Our client is a well-established business with over 70 years of trading history under the SEC umbrella. Following a management buyout six years ago, the company has experienced significant growth, increasing turnover from £3M to a forecasted £7M this year, with a clear strategic target of reaching £15M.
The business delivers projects across a diverse range of sectors including education, residential (BTR), multi-storey developments, logistics, refurbishments, healthcare, leisure, manufacturing, and renewable energy. With a strong presence nationwide and a growing FM division, the company is now looking to strengthen its service offering.
The Opportunity
This is a key strategic hire within the business, responsible for driving the growth and development of the Service / FM division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in generating new business, improving operational structure, and enhancing client relationships.
This position offers a clear pathway to senior leadership and potential shareholding for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development within the FM / service division, securing new clients and increasing revenue streams
- Identify and win new maintenance and hard services contracts
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Implement and improve processes, pricing structures, and service delivery standards
- Review and enhance internal systems to improve efficiency and profitability
- Work closely with the leadership team to shape the future structure of the division
- Support and guide the existing service team, with the opportunity to influence team direction
- Ensure high levels of service delivery and client satisfaction
Key Requirements
- Strong background in Business Development within FM / hard services
- Proven track record of generating new business and securing contracts
- Ideally from an electrical or multi-disciplinary (M&E) background
- Experience in pricing, tendering, and delivering FM services
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to build profitable revenue streams
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to introduce structure, processes, and best practice
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels
Team & Structure
- Existing service team includes 2 Service Managers
- Opportunity to initially work alongside the current team before influencing long-term structure
- Supported by a wider business of 30–35 direct staff and a large subcontractor network
