Position: Sheet Metal Worker Location: Reading Salary: £32,000 + overtime Hours: 4 day working week – Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 16:45
Sheet Metal Worker required to join a well-established Engineering company that specialises in precision engineering within Aerospace and Defence markets based in the Reading area.
Our client have a full order book for the next 12 months and are actively looking to expand their team with quality Sheet Metal professionals.
Sheet Metal Worker – Position Overview
Working with flat metal, such as aluminium and stainless steel, up to 3 millimetres thick
Following engineering drawings
Using a hand saw, machine saw, laser cutter, CNC punching or guillotine
Shaping the metal using a variety of other tools, including small presses, roller machines and hammers
Finishing the product using tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface
assembling the parts by welding, bolting or riveting them together, or preparing the parts for a welder to assemble
Inspecting and testing components produced to make sure they meet quality requirements
carrying out basic maintenance on tools and equipment and reporting faults
Completing records of production.
Sheet Metal Worker – Position Requirements
Previous experience within a similar role
Fine Limit sheet metal work experience
Experience working within the Aerospace sector is advantageous
Must live within a commutable distance to Reading
Full UK Driving license
Sheet Metal Worker – Position Remuneration
£32,000 annual salary + overtime
4 day working week (Monday – Thursday)
Time and half overtime rates available
33 days holiday (including BH)
