Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be exclusive partnered with a leading advanced manufacturing business in the search for a Shift Manager to join their operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader to take ownership of operational performance, leading teams to deliver exceptional standards in safety, quality, delivery and cost. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in developing people, improving processes and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.
Key responsibilities of the Shift Manager include:
- Leading and developing operational teams to achieve business objectives
- Managing daily production activities to ensure throughput, quality and delivery targets are achieved
- Driving a strong safety-first culture through visible leadership, auditing and coaching
- Conducting performance reviews, probationary reviews and development conversations with direct reports
- Communicating daily and weekly production plans and priorities
- Monitoring capacity, workflow and work-in-progress to ensure customer requirements are met
- Develop plans to address production challenges and maintain delivery performance
- Supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
- Working collaboratively with planning and maintenance teams
- Ensuring accurate shop floor data capture and process compliance
- Driving lean manufacturing principles, 5S standards and operational excellence initiatives
- Maintaining compliance with all quality, health, safety and environmental requirements
We are looking for a proactive and engaging manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys developing high-performing teams.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Shift Manager, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor or similar leadership role
- Strong people management and coaching skills
- Experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment
- A solid understanding of health, safety and quality management systems
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
- Experience managing performance, attendance and employee development
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A hands-on leadership style with a visible presence on the shop floor
