Freelance Site Manager – Education Refurbishment Projects
Yorkshire Region
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Managers to oversee a programme of education refurbishment projects across Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in refurbishment and fit-out projects within occupied or live educational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of site operations, subcontractors, and site logistics.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and maintaining health & safety compliance.
- Liaising with clients, school representatives, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Managing site documentation, RAMS, permits, and progress reporting.
- Coordinating trades and resolving site issues efficiently to maintain project momentum.
Essential Requirements
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (current and valid)
- Proven experience managing refurbishment projects within education or public sector environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
