The Role
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- To undertake minor maintenance repairs and any requests made via the online helpdesk ticket system
- Undertake keyholding and the security of all buildings
- Undertake safety inspections/testing including, but not limited to, the minibus, emergency lighting, legionella flushing and temperature checks, fire alarm, fire extinguishers, fire doors and exits.
- Accept receipt of all deliveries and distribute accordingly ensuring that items have been delivered to the correct person/department
- To ensure sufficient stock levels for equipment and materials

The Successful Candidate
Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic and experienced candidate to join our friendly and well established Estates department.
The Estates Department is seeking an individual with a strong awareness of Health and Safety legislation, excellent communication skills, and a self-motivated, proactive, and flexible approach to work.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Terms and Conditions
Hours: 37 hours per week, full year. Hours of work will be on a four-weekly rota basis in line with the following shift patterns, with flexibility when required;
- Two weeks: 9.30am – 5.30pm
- Remaining weeks: 5.30am – 1.30pm and 7.00am – 3.00pm
Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at points 10 to 12 – pro rata to £27,733 to £29,544 per annum. For an outstanding candidate the college will consider a 'golden hello' payment of up to 10% of the annual salary.
