Hays Education are currently working in partnership with a well-regarded school in the Wigan area to recruit a reliable and proactive Site Supervisor to start immediately on a temporary basis through to the end of the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment.
Your new role
As Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the school premises. Duties will include:
- Opening and locking up the school site daily
- Carrying out routine maintenance and basic repairs
- Ensuring the premises are clean, safe, and compliant with health & safety standards
- Monitoring and maintaining security across the site
- Managing contractors and overseeing site access where required.
- Supporting with minor grounds maintenance and general upkeep
- Responding promptly to any on-site issues or emergencies
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a site supervisor, caretaker, or facilities role (ideally within a school setting)
- A good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- A hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
