- £21.41 per hour (PAYE)
- £28.19 per hour (Umbrella)
Start Date: Week commencing 29th June 2026
Contract: Ongoing Temporary (Project-Based)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are seeking 3 motivated and organised individuals to join a Local Authority Housing Team in Wembley, supporting a key social housing project. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to develop experience in housing—even if you don’t come from a housing background.
? The Role
As a Social Housing Assessment & Lettings Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting residents through the housing process and ensuring fair and efficient allocation of social housing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing housing applications and undertaking applicant verifications
- Conducting home visits and organising medical assessments
- Notifying applicants of their housing priority status
- Managing and maintaining accurate housing application records
- Supporting the administration of the choice-based lettings service
- Prioritising applicants for property viewings and offers
- Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email
- Organising the advertisement of available properties
- Helping manage applicant expectations and promote best use of housing stock
What We’re Looking For
Housing experience is not essential—we’re looking for candidates with the right skills and mindset:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload
Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Confident using IT systems including:
- Word processing
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Email and digital communication tools
Customer-focused with the ability to provide clear guidance and advice
Working Arrangement
- Hybrid working available
- Based in Wembley (office attendance required as part of the role)
Requirements
- Must be willing to undertake home visits
- Must pass an enhanced DBS check
- Available for immediate start
