About the Role
Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and highly skilled Social Worker to join their Children's Safeguarding team. This dual-focus role covers both Loughborough and Melton, requiring a versatile professional capable of managing a complex caseload spanning Child Protection (CP) and Court proceedings.
This is a hybrid position that offers flexibility alongside vital in-person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities

Case Management: Manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection (CP) planning and care proceedings.

Court Work: Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and assessments, and provide professional testimony for court attendance located in Leicester City.

Collaboration: Actively participate in the multi-disciplinary team environment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Attendance & Location Requirements
While this role benefits from hybrid working flexibility, physical attendance is required for the following:

Weekly pod meetings at the office.

All designated duty days.

Monthly team meetings.

In-person Court attendance in Leicester City.
Candidate Requirements

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of permanent experience working within a Local Authority (LA) Children's Services department.

Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and active Social Work England registration.

Skills: Strong track record in court work and navigating the child protection framework.
