Senior Software Developer – £40,000 to £50,000 – Remote / UK

TechXperts Recruitment UK are working with an established software business looking to appoint a Software Developer to join their growing development team.
This is an opportunity to become a key voice within the team, taking ownership of projects, contributing to technical decisions and helping maintain the high standards the business prides itself on. You'll work closely with the Development Manager, playing an active role in solution design, code reviews, mentoring colleagues and delivering high-quality software that genuinely adds value to the business.
The role offers a great mix of hands-on development and technical leadership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys sharing knowledge, improving processes and helping drive best practice across a development function.
Tech Stack
- Progress OpenEdge 10.2B+
- Progress SmartObjects
- SQL / PostgreSQL
- Python
- Linux & Linux Scripting
- GitHub or other modern source control tools
- Jira
What they're looking for
- 5+ years commercial software development experience
- Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge or similar 4GL-based development environments
- Experience working with SQL databases
- Comfortable contributing to software design and technical decision-making
- Experience carrying out code reviews and mentoring other developers
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive, positive and collaborative approach to development
