Divorce and Finance Lawyer

  • Annual Salary: From £55,000, dependent on experience
  • Location: Bristol
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor or FCILEx (authorised litigator) with a minimum of 8 years PQE or equivalent to join our well-established Family Department. The successful candidate will be experienced in handling divorce and financial matters, including pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements. This role offers excellent career prospects and the opportunity for hybrid working, combining both home and office settings.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Running your own caseload of divorce and finance cases.
  • Conducting your own advocacy where appropriate.
  • Assisting with the organisation's work creation projects and online documents.
  • Engaging in appropriate networking, marketing, and business development activities.
  • Assisting with the training and development of junior Case Handlers.
  • Performing any additional duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Strong organisational and excellent advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to meet high billing targets.
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach to family law.
  • Innovative and confident enough in family law to use your own initiative.
  • Proven team working abilities.
  • Ability to handle urgent work and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Capability to bring in own work.

Desirable:

  • Experience with international divorce and finance cases.

Experience Required:

  • Experience of running your own caseload within a family law environment, dealing with divorce and finance cases.
  • Advocacy and supervision experience.

Education:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive (authorised litigator) or equivalent.
  • Resolution Accredited specialist (desirable).
