Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE
Benefits: Hybrid working and comprehensive benefits package
About the Company:
This opportunity is with a fast-growing specialist insurance brokerage that advises ambitious businesses operating within complex and evolving sectors. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering tailored insurance solutions through a highly consultative and relationship-led approach.
Supported by established referral channels and strategic partnerships, brokers are empowered to focus on advising clients, delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships rather than generating leads. With ambitious growth plans, a collaborative culture and a commitment to technical excellence, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of its growth journey.
Role Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Commercial Broker to join a growing specialist team. The role combines new business conversion with ongoing client management, supporting businesses that require sophisticated insurance and risk management solutions.
Working with qualified opportunities generated through established referral and introducer networks, you'll guide clients from initial engagement through to placement, renewal and ongoing programme development. You'll act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex risks and ensuring their insurance arrangements evolve alongside their businesses.
This role would suit an experienced commercial insurance professional from a broking, account executive or account handling background who enjoys technical insurance work, insurer engagement and taking ownership of client relationships.
Please note that whilst the role is London-based with hybrid working available, regular attendance at the firm's Gloucestershire office will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage clients through the full insurance lifecycle, from initial enquiry through to placement, renewal and ongoing servicing.
• Design and structure tailored insurance programmes to address complex commercial risks and evolving client requirements.
• Analyse existing insurance arrangements, identifying gaps in cover and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers to secure competitive and effective cover solutions.
• Manage complex placements across a range of commercial insurance products, including London Market risks where appropriate.
• Support clients with strategic insurance advice as their businesses grow, diversify and enter new markets.
• Structure and manage multi-jurisdictional insurance programmes where required.
• Deliver a proactive, high-touch service model focused on long-term client outcomes and retention.
Requirements:
• Experience within commercial insurance broking, account executive, client management or account handling roles.
• Strong technical knowledge across commercial insurance products and risk management principles.
• Experience placing or servicing Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice, Product Liability, Cyber, Management Liability or other specialist commercial risks.
• Exposure to clients operating within healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, technology, manufacturing or other regulated sectors would be advantageous.
• Comfortable managing insurer relationships and handling market-facing broking responsibilities.
• Experience identifying coverage gaps, assessing risk exposures and designing bespoke insurance solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly and confidently.
• Acturis experience would be beneficial.
• Progress towards or completion of CII qualifications would be advantageous.
• Ambitious, proactive and motivated by working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
