Adecco is proud to be working in partnership with Swindon Borough Council to recruit a range of roles across Housing and Corporate Repairs, including:
Specialist Compliance Officer – Mechanical & Electrical
Salary: £47,181 | Level: CFL9
Join Swindon Borough Council as we strengthen safety, assurance and professionalism across housing and corporate property services. This technical role offers the opportunity to provide specialist compliance expertise within a service undergoing significant improvement and investment.
Background
Swindon Borough Council is investing £250 million over five years to improve safety and compliance across its housing and corporate property portfolio following a C3 regulatory judgement.
Mechanical and electrical compliance is a critical part of this programme.
Your New Role
As Specialist Compliance Officer – Mechanical & Electrical, you will support the delivery of statutory compliance across the housing and corporate portfolio, with a specialist focus on mechanical and electrical services.
Reporting to the Service Manager or Service Lead, you will coordinate inspections, statutory servicing and remedial works, monitor contractor performance and ensure works are carried out safely, on time and to specification. You will maintain accurate compliance records, analyse performance data and escalate risks or non-compliance as required.
Alongside operational delivery, you will provide technical advice to managers and operational teams, contribute to service improvement activity and help embed a strong culture of safety and accountability. While you may support wider compliance activity where needed, you will retain a clear specialist focus in mechanical and electrical compliance as a subject matter expert.
What You'll Need to Succeed
You will have experience supporting or delivering mechanical and electrical compliance within a local authority or social housing environment, with a good understanding of building services compliance requirements and health and safety.
Experience working with contracts and monitoring contractor performance is essential. A relevant mechanical or electrical qualification is desirable, alongside a recognised health and safety qualification.
What You'll Get in Return
We offer:
- Competitive local government salary and benefits
- Local Government Pension Scheme membership
- Professional development opportunities
- A technical role contributing directly to resident safety
