Stores & Stock Controller
Location: Roxton, Bedford
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 DOE
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm (30-minute lunch)
Job Type: Permanent or Temp-to-Perm
We're recruiting for a Stores & Stock Controller to join a well-established, family-run engineering business based in Roxton.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll play a key part in keeping the business running efficiently. Working closely with engineers, suppliers and internal departments, you'll be responsible for ensuring stock is accurately managed, parts are available when needed and day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Your responsibilities as a stock controller:
- Managing Goods In and Goods Out
- Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
- Handling parts enquiries
- Liaising with UK and overseas suppliers
- Supporting the Service and Accounts teams
- Carrying out regular stock checks and inventory control
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift
- Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient stores environment
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, has excellent attention to detail and thrives in a busy environment.
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a Stores, Stock Control, Inventory or Parts role
- Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, construction, plant hire or automotive environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience using Sage 200 or similar stock management systems (desirable)
- The ability to recognise mechanical or electrical components (advantageous)
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work on your own initiative while supporting the wider team
This role is based in Roxton, Bedfordshire.
Due to the rural location, applicants must have a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle, as public transport links are limited.
