Street Works Inspector needed in Oxford

The successful candidate will take responsibility for conducting regular inspections of Streetworks and Road Works to ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, including Samples A, B and C, defect inspections, investigatory checks and SOM inspections.
They will issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Section 74 notifications where breaches occur, including prolonged occupation of the highway contrary to NRSWA 1991 and TMA 2024. They will monitor the on-site activities of Promoters and Contractors to ensure safety and quality standards are consistently met, producing detailed inspection reports with supporting evidence, identifying non-compliance, and recommending corrective actions.
The successful candidate will lead and participate in Joint Site Meetings (JSIs) to discuss, challenge and agree defects and required remedial works, while also managing inspection disputes raised by Promoters and Contractors through thorough review, investigation and appropriate action. They will investigate complaints from the public, Councillors, MPs and other stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication of outcomes.
