Company Overview
We're working with a well-established global institution operating at the center of the structured finance and credit markets. The business is known for its rigorous analytical approach and strong reputation among market participants, and is continuing to build out its European platform.
As part of this growth, they are looking to hire a Lawyer into their London team.
The Role
You'll sit within a highly regarded team that works closely with credit analysts and deal teams, providing legal insight into securitization and structured finance transactions. The team is embedded in the evaluation process, focusing on how deal structures and documentation drive risk and outcomes.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of transactions across Europe and internationally, with a focus on analyzing and interpreting complex structures rather than executing deals.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze transaction documentation across a range of structured finance products (e.g. ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs)
- Assess how legal structures, cashflow mechanics, and documentation impact credit risk and transaction performance
- Work closely with analytical teams to evaluate deal structures, including capital structure, tranching, and credit enhancement
- Contribute to internal decision-making on live transactions, including participation in deal discussions
- Support the preparation of transaction analysis and market-facing materials
Required Experience
- England & Wales qualified lawyer with 4-8 years' PQE
- Strong experience in structured finance / securitization gained in private practice or a relevant in-house environment
- Demonstrable understanding of transaction structuring, including exposure to tranches, waterfalls, and credit enhancement
- Experience reviewing and interpreting key transaction documents (e.g. offering circulars, trust deeds, intercreditor agreements)
- Commercially minded, with the ability to translate legal analysis into broader risk and credit considerations
- Comfortable working across multiple transactions and collaborating with non-legal stakeholders
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to form clear, well-reasoned views on complex structures
