Salary: £93-100 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 15:30
About the role:
Teaching Personnel are proud to be recruiting a Student Support Officer for one of our partnership schools in Newport. The Student Support Officer will work within the inclusion team and work towards the school’s behaviour management strategy. The successful candidate will be required to promote positive behaviour whilst assisting the Student Support Centre with the effective support of behaviour, coordinate appropriate work and provide a calm working environment for students whose behaviour can be challenging. This educator must be confident and have strong behaviour management skills, whilst being impressionable and happy to act as a bridge between pupils and the teaching staff within the school.
Qualifications & experience:
- Strong behaviour management and conflict de-escalation skills
- Up to date working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and principles
Key responsibilities:
- Removing disruptive students from mainstream classes and working with them on a 1:1 basis within the Student Support Centre
- The ability to exercise discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Being able to demonstrate initiative and work both independently and as a member of the team
- Participate in the school’s performance management process
- The ability to work flexibly
Job requirements:
- Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain this)
- To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
- Two professional references covering 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
