Substance Misuse Treatment Worker

£33.64 per hour (Umbrella)
Locum Contract
I'm currently working with a Local Authority in Hackney who are looking for an experienced Substance Misuse Treatment Worker to join their Children and Young People's Service.
This is a rewarding locum opportunity supporting young people aged 8-25 with substance misuse needs, delivering targeted interventions and making a real impact across the borough.
The Role
As a Substance Misuse Treatment Worker, you will:
- Manage a caseload of young people requiring specialist substance misuse support
- Deliver targeted one-to-one interventions (Tier 2 & 3) tailored to individual needs
- Carry out assessments, care planning and treatment pathways including referrals where required
- Work flexibly across community settings, drop-ins and outreach services
- Support young people with wider issues including education, housing, relationships and wellbeing
- Use harm reduction strategies and keep up to date with current drug trends and treatment approaches
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including Youth Offending Teams and other council services
Requirements
To be considered, you will have:
- Experience working with young people and substance misuse cases
- A background in youth work, social work, health, or a related field
- Experience managing a caseload and delivering 1:1 interventions
- Strong engagement and communication skills with vulnerable young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and child protection
- Ability to work flexibly, including community-based and outreach work
