A friendly and inclusive primary school in Daventry is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting their learning and development.

Working alongside class teachers and support staff, you will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence in their abilities, and create a positive and engaging classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils during lessons to help them remain focused and engaged
  • Work with small groups and individual learners to reinforce classroom learning
  • Assist the class teacher with the preparation of learning resources and activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a supportive classroom environment
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Support the implementation of learning plans where required
  • Contribute to the smooth running of classroom routines and daily activities

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children is desirable

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible and willing to support pupils with a range of learning needs
  • Good organisational skills and ability to use initiative
  • Passionate about helping children achieve their potential
