Location: Outskirts of Preston
Company: Tradewind Recruitment
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Long-term (with a view until December 2026)
Salary: £92.56 – £110.89 per day
About the Role
Are you a passionate, resilient, and adaptable educator looking for a rewarding role in the Preston area? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant, mainstream secondary school located on the outskirts of Preston.
This is a unique, dual-responsibility role perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and wants to make a tangible difference in young people's lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 Classroom Support: Work closely with specific students within mainstream classes to break down learning barriers, boost confidence, and keep them engaged with the curriculum.
- Exclusion Unit Support: Provide crucial behavioural and pastoral support within the school's internal exclusion/reintegration unit. You will help students reflect on their choices, manage their behaviour, and stay on track with their studies in a structured environment.
- Collaboration: Work alongside class teachers, the SENCo, and behaviour management teams to implement tailored support plans.
What We Are Looking For:
- Prior experience working with secondary-aged children (experience with SEMH, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is highly desirable).
- A calm, firm, but empathetic approach to behaviour management.
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students who may find mainstream education challenging.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
Why Register with Tradewind?
- We attract top rates of pay because we value our staff.
- We care about your training and development more than any other agency-which is why we can offer you more certified CPD courses than any other education recruitment agency.
