Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Bury on a full-time maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional looking to make a positive impact on students' learning and development within a thriving secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their academic potential, build confidence, and engage positively with school life.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Providing classroom support across a range of subjects and year groups.

Working with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning.

Supporting students with additional learning needs, SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.

Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.

Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting student engagement.

Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
This is a full-time maternity cover position, offering consistency and the opportunity to become an integral part of the school community.
Essential Requirements
Please note: Only applicants who have previous experience working within UK secondary schools and UK education settings will be considered for this position.
To be considered, you must have:

Previous experience working in a UK secondary school.

A strong understanding of the UK secondary education system.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.

A passion for helping young people succeed.
Pay Rates
Daily rates are based on your previous experience working within UK secondary schools:

£95 per day – Less than 6 months' UK secondary school experience.

£100 per day – Between 6 and 12 months' UK secondary school experience.
-
£105 per day – Between 12 and 18 months' UK secondary school experience.
-
£110 per day – Over 18 months' UK secondary school experience.
