SANZA Teaching Agency are currently recruiting on behalf of a lively primary school in Barking & Dagenham. They are seeking skilled, calm and compassionate teaching assistants to join their team.
As a teaching assistant, you will work across key stage 1 and key stage 2, supporting key pupils with additional needs. The role will be full-time (term- time only) from September 2026 to July 2027.
As a teaching assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to key students with Autism, ensuring they can access the learning material.
- Enforce learning routines.
- Promote independence, ensuring students learn to take responsibility for their learning journey.
- Support sensory needs through various channels.
- Support emotional regulation and the development of healthy interpersonal relationships.
- Work in collaboration with class teachers and the SEN team.
About you:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, ideally within a primary setting.
- A solid understanding of Autism and sensory needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Be confident, proactive and able to use initiative .
- Have a strong ability to connect with children, colleagues and parents, and build strong relationships.
