Teaching Assistant – Year 5 & Maths Interventions – September 2026 – Haringey
A welcoming and well-respected Primary School in Haringey, North London is seeking a confident and capable Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is a varied and rewarding Teaching Assistant role where you will support learning in a Year 5 class, deliver targeted Maths interventions, and lead small group work to help raise attainment across KS2.
There will also be occasions where the successful Teaching Assistant will take responsibility for the class for short periods during the school day when the class teacher is absent, following clear plans already in place.
The school is looking for a proactive and reliable Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting learning, comfortable stepping up when needed, and passionate about helping pupils make progress.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
- Supporting learning in a Year 5 class as a Teaching Assistant
- Delivering Maths intervention sessions as a Teaching Assistant
- Leading small group academic support as a Teaching Assistant
- Supporting pupils with targeted learning needs
- Occasionally supervising the class for short periods during teacher absence
- Working closely with teaching staff to support pupil progress

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for an experienced TA, graduate, or aspiring teacher looking for increased responsibility within a supportive primary school.
