Teaching Assistant A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its support team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-respected school in Hounslow, known for its strong pastoral care and inclusive approach to student development. The successful Teaching Assistant will support teaching staff in the classroom, helping students to access learning and achieve their full potential across a range of subjects.
The role will involve working closely with SEN students, including those with autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). You will provide both in-class support and small group or one-to-one intervention, helping to create a structured and supportive learning environment in Hounslow. Candidates with experience supporting SEN students, particularly those with additional learning needs such as ASD or ADHD, and the ability to work independently and confidently within a classroom setting, may be eligible for a higher rate of pay.
Responsibilities Support students in lessons to ensure they can access learning effectively Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce classroom learning Provide targeted support for SEN students, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and MLD Assist teachers with preparation of resources and classroom activities Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Requirements Experience working with children or young people is desirable Previous experience supporting SEN students is advantageous Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, proactive, and supportive approach Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff
