About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Nelson from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education, who is committed to supporting young children in their development, learning, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS activities
- Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to support learning and development
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment
- Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
- Support children with varying needs, including those with SEND (if required)
- Promote positive behaviour and social interaction
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working within an EYFS or primary school setting
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
