SANZA Teaching Agency are recruiting on behalf of a 2-form entry primary school in the borough of Havering (Romford). They are seeking a talented teaching assistant with a desire to make a lasting impact on young people with additional needs.
As a teaching assistant in this position, you will support key students with Autism and/or SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs.
About you:
- Understand that Autism and neurodivergence affects individuals differently
- Have a solid understanding of sensory processing differences, communication needs, and social challenges faced by young people with Autism
- You will be observant and able to identify patterns, triggers, strengths, and areas of need in the students you support
- You will be able to adjust your approaches to each student you support, according to the child's mood, needs, and circumstance
- You will be able to think creatively to overcome barriers to learning
