Teaching Assistant Required (Alternative Provision)
Location: Poulton-le-Fylde area
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (Monday – Friday)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a leading alternative education setting in the Poulton area. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant team focused on making a genuine difference to young people's lives.
This environment supports students who thrive outside of mainstream education. Your role will involve supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them overcome barriers to learning, and rebuilding their confidence.
This is a full-time position with a strong view of transitioning from a temporary contract to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored support to students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

Assist school staff in managing behaviour and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Help re-engage students with their education through patience, empathy, and understanding.

Act as a positive role model and mentor to young people facing social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) challenges.
What We Are Looking For

Previous experience working with children or young people (experience in alternative provision, youth work, or SEN/SEMH is highly desirable).

A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach to challenging situations.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
