SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Long-Term Role
Location: Sheffield
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Sheffield on a full-time, long-term basis.
The school provides education for children and young people across a wide age range, from Key Stage 1 primary-aged pupils through to Year 11 students aged up to 16. The successful candidate will join a supportive team dedicated to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and has the skills and resilience required to work in a specialist setting.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working with SEND pupils in an educational or care setting
- Be confident supporting children and young people with ASD and ADHD
- Have experience working with pupils with emotional, social and behavioural needs
- Be skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
- Be patient, understanding and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Be confident supporting learning, communication and personal development
- Work effectively as part of a dedicated SEN team
You will be supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to engage with learning, develop independence and manage challenges in a positive and supportive environment.
