We are seeking a dedicated and active Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive Alternative Provision in the Accrington area. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to work with young people who require extra support, guidance, and inspiration to reach their full potential.
The Role
In this role, you won't just be sitting at a desk. You will be an active mentor, helping to create a positive, high-energy environment where students feel motivated to learn.

Small Class Sizes: You will be supporting a small, focused class of up to 8 pupils, allowing you to build strong rapport and deliver impactful, individualised support.

Get Active: A key part of this role is supporting the delivery of Physical Education (PE). Whether you are leading a drill, refereeing a game, or just encouraging participation, you will be right in the middle of the action.

Behaviour & Well-being: Acting as a positive role model, helping students manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop teamwork skills through both academic work and sport.
What We Are Looking For

A Sporty Background: Whether you are a coach, a personal trainer, a sports graduate, or simply someone who lives and breathes sports, your active background will be a massive asset.

Energy & Enthusiasm: You need to be keen, proactive, and ready to get stuck in from day one.

Resilience & Empathy: Experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU, or with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs is a plus, but the right attitude and a thick skin are essential.

Strong Communication: The ability to connect with teenagers, de-escalate challenging situations, and earn their trust.
