JOB: TechOps Specialist

LOCATION: Remote with office visits to Dorset

SALARY: £40,000 – £45,000

Our client is a very successful retail business who now has a need to recruit a TechOps Specialist to their team.

Working closely with the Technology Director, as the TechOps Specialist you’ll own internal tech ops. You’ll own the user lifecycle from a systems perspective, ensuring your colleagues have the tools, access, and support they need to do their best work. You’ll lead the elationship with our MSP and use your expertise and systems knowledge to make life easier for your colleagues. You’ll be the expert people see when they want better ways of working in the tools used, and the visionary who helpd develop and initiate tools required.

As TechOps Specialist you will be:

A deeply knowledgeable tech generalist — a multi-disciplinary specialist who understands how systems mesh to make a business run smoother. Your a Google Workspace-native, and love using integrations, automation, and AI to remove friction wherever you find it. You’re organised and detail-oriented, enjoy owning projects from beginning to end, and know how to communicate complex things well and simply.

What you’ll be doing as the TechOps Specialist:

  • Own the TechOps roadmap: Partner with the Tech Director to define internal tech strategy, ensuring the SaaS stack and hardware support the business as it continues to grow..
  • Manage and iterate their tech stack: Take ownership of their core SaaS tools, making sure they are maximised and the company stays ahead of the curve.
  • Manage access and permissions: Own the entire user lifecycle across all systems, ensuring people have the right access from day one and maintaining a secure, frictionless permission structure.
  • Automate and engineer: Proactively find ways to work smarter by using automation and AI to remove manual tasks and build their way out of operational problems.
  • Lead the MSP relationship: Act as the primary lead for our IT service provider, delegating effectively to ensure they deliver high-quality support for the organisation's physical networks and hardware.
  • Support and educate: Provide support for the team, creating clear documentation and training colleagues to use tools effectively and safely.
  • Manage the hardware lifecycle: Oversee the fleet of Windows laptops, ensuring hardware is healthy, secure, and fit for purpose.
