Are you an experienced housing administrator with a strong customer focus and excellent attention to detail?
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Support Officer to join a busy and supportive housing team on a temporary basis for an initial 6-week assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with social housing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an outstanding service to residents and colleagues alike.
The Role
As Operations Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient delivery of housing management services. You will manage a varied caseload and provide administrative support across a range of housing functions, including lettings, mutual exchanges, tenancy changes and resident enquiries.
Working closely with colleagues, residents and external stakeholders, you will help ensure processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end administration of mutual exchanges, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Support the letting of empty homes within target timescales, including advertising properties, processing nominations and preparing tenancy documentation.
- Administer tenancy changes including successions, joint tenancies and household amendments.
- Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems.
- Respond to enquiries from residents via telephone, email, written correspondence and face-to-face contact.
- Liaise with residents, contractors and stakeholders to resolve queries and provide excellent customer service.
- Support the wider housing management team with a range of administrative duties.
- Contribute ideas for service improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 12 months' experience working within social housing.
- Previous administrative experience in a busy office environment.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
