The role will focus on hands-on testing of store and integration processes across EPOS, pricing, promotions, payments, gift cards, finance and related systems. A key part of the role will be validating complex promotions and supplier funding scenarios, including retrospective funding processes — retros — to ensure accurate pricing, discounting and downstream financial outcomes.

Design and review test scenarios covering core R10 business and store processes. Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, execution results and supporting evidence. Support preparation of test packs for System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing. Work with Business Analysts and SMEs to confirm expected outcomes for complex business scenarios.

Test Execution Execute test cases across System Integration Testing and support User Acceptance Testing where required. Validate end-to-end retail journeys, including: Sales, returns and exchanges Pricing and price changes Promotions and discounts Supplier-funded promotions and retros Gift cards, vouchers and coupons Payments and refunds Store colleague operational processes Record test results accurately and provide appropriate evidence to support pass/fail outcomes. Retest fixes and support regression testing where required. Highlight blockers, environment issues, data issues or unclear requirements promptly.

Promotions & Supplier Funding Testing Create and execute test scenarios for complex promotions, including multi-buy, mix and match, threshold offers, exclusions, priorities, conflicts and stacking rules. Validate that the correct promotional outcome is applied at EPOS. Test supplier-funded promotional scenarios and retrospective funding processes where relevant to the R10 scope. Compare expected versus actual pricing, discount and transaction outcomes. Support investigation of issues relating to incorrect promotion application, pricing discrepancies or supplier funding calculations. Work with Commercial, Trading, Finance, Pricing and Promotion SMEs to clarify expected behaviour where needed.

Data & Environment Support Support the identification and preparation of test data, including products, prices, promotions, stores, tax zones, tenders, gift cards and supplier funding scenarios. Check that test environments are available and suitably configured for assigned test activity. Raise environment, configuration or data issues that may affect test execution. Support the Test Manager in identifying gaps in test data or environment readiness.

Defect & Quality Management Ensure defects are logged clearly and consistently, with sufficient evidence to support rapid resolution by development or configuration teams. Include clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results and relevant screenshots or transaction evidence. Perform initial analysis of issues to help narrow down likely cause and support prioritisation. Retest resolved defects and update outcomes promptly. Escalate high-impact defects, repeated failures or quality concerns to the Test Manager.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting Work closely with the Test Manager, Programme Manager, Business Analysts, Developers, SMEs and vendors to coordinate test activity. Provide clear and accurate test status updates, including progress, pass/fail status, blockers and defects. Support business users during UAT execution where required. Maintain clear and organised test documentation and evidence. Contribute to daily test progress reviews, defect triage and readiness discussions.

Customer Focus Establish strong relationships with project, business and technical stakeholders. Keep customer and store colleague experience central when designing and executing tests. Use feedback and test evidence to identify improvements and support better outcomes. Collaborate with others to resolve issues quickly and constructively.
