The Guardian
Putney High School is seeking a dedicated and creative Textiles & Art Technician to provide high-quality support across both departments, enabling smooth day-to-day teaching and learning.
The role focuses on preparing and organising materials, equipment and resources, offering technical support to staff and students, and contributing to an inspiring studio environment where students can develop their creative skills. Working flexibly across Textiles and Art, the Technician will play a vital role in supporting lessons, examinations and extra-curricular activities, as well as helping to showcase students’ work through exhibitions and displays.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining safe, well-organised studios and managing departmental resources effectively, including stock control, ordering supplies and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. Alongside strong organisational and technical skills—particularly in textiles processes, garment construction and creative practice—the role requires a collaborative approach, supporting both staff, students and contributing to the wider life of the school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about Art, Textiles and Design to support a vibrant Faculty and play a key role in enriching students’ love for the Arts.
