Location: Bedford Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Job Type: Temporary
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Trade Counter Assistant to join a busy and friendly branch team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service to encourage repeat business and build strong customer relationships.
Process customer orders, quotations, and enquiries accurately and efficiently.
Use the SAP system for order processing, stock management, invoicing, back orders, forward orders, and cash handling.
Ensure branch stock levels are maintained and products are readily available.
Support accurate and timely customer deliveries and quotations.
Assist with receiving and booking in stock, checking for discrepancies or damaged goods, and allocating stock correctly within the warehouse.
Maintain high standards of warehouse organisation, trade counter presentation, cleanliness, and health & safety.
Develop and maintain strong product knowledge and understanding of company procedures.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a trade counter, builders' merchant, warehouse, customer service environment is preferred.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
Basic IT skills; experience using SAP or similar systems would be advantageous
