Role Overview:
As a Trainee Accountant, you will gain broad and valuable exposure across the firm’s service lines. The role is varied, providing a strong foundation in accounts preparation, audit assignments, and tax compliance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in practice while working towards the ICAEW qualification with full study support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts
- Prepare year-end accounts for a wide range of clients
- Support in producing management accounts
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks and maintaining accurate financial records
- Audit
- Participate in the planning and execution of audits
- Carry out audit testing and fieldwork under supervision
- Work onsite with clients when required
- Tax
- Prepare corporation tax computations
- Assist with personal tax return preparation
- Gain exposure to key areas of tax compliance
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong interest in a long-term career within accountancy practice
- Good numerical ability and attention to detail
- Confidence working with data and financial information
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
- Basic understanding of accountancy principles or prior exposure to finance
Training & Progression:
- Support for professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA)
- Exposure to a diverse client base, including national group subsidiaries
- Structured development across accounts, audit, and tax
- Flexibility to work from home once you are confident and settled in the role
