Our client is a rapidly expanding provider of calibration, testing, inspection, and compliance services, supporting some of the UK's leading organisations within highly regulated industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated Trainee Calibration Engineer to join their team in Bridport.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on engineering experience who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist technical field. Full training will be provided through a structured 12-month development programme, allowing you to develop into a fully qualified Calibration Engineer.
The Role
As a Trainee Calibration Engineer, you will support the calibration, maintenance, and repair of precision equipment used within Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, NHS, and Private Healthcare environments.
The role combines laboratory-based work at the Bridport facility with regular visits to customer sites throughout the UK, providing excellent variety and career development opportunities.
Key Duties
- Calibrate, test, and repair precision equipment.
- Perform both laboratory-based and on-site calibration activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with UKAS accreditation requirements.
- Travel to customer sites across the UK to complete scheduled work.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service during site visits.
- Use company-provided technology to manage job reports and communications.
- Successfully complete training assessments and development milestones.
- Support wider engineering and operational activities as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year's experience in an electrical, mechanical, engineering, maintenance, or technical role.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Comfortable using modern technology and digital systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous calibration, inspection, testing, or service engineering experience.
- Experience working within regulated industries.
- Relevant engineering qualifications or technical training.
