Trainee Energy Consultant
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 per annum
Location: Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth (Hybrid – minimum 2 days office-based)
Working Pattern: Permanent, 37 hours per week
NFU Energy is a specialist energy consultancy supporting agricultural and commercial businesses with technical and compliance advisory services. We're growing our Technical Delivery team and looking for a Trainee Energy Consultant to support the delivery of client projects across renewables, compliance, sustainability and energy efficiency.
This is a strong entry point for someone at the start of their career or making a move into the energy sector, with a clear pathway to Energy Consultant and related roles.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting site visits to assess energy use, renewable options and scheme compliance
- Processing applications and amendments for schemes including Renewable Heat Incentive, Feed-in Tariff and Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance
- Communicating with clients, suppliers and installers under guidance from senior colleagues
- Maintaining accurate project records, timesheets and activity reports
- Analysing energy data to identify savings and efficiency opportunities
- Supporting technical, compliance and research projects across the business
- Collaborating with Sales, Marketing and Energy Account Management teams
What You'll Bring
- A degree (or equivalent) in energy, engineering, environmental science, agriculture or a related subject — or relevant practical experience
- An interest in the UK energy sector, sustainability and energy efficiency
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data
- Good organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to engage with clients
- Competent IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
It would be great if you also have:
- Knowledge of renewable or low-carbon technologies
- An interest in agricultural or rural energy use
- Advanced Excel or data modelling skills
