We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Transport Administrator to support the efficient operation of our client's transport department. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel in problem-solving, this role is perfect for you!
Day-to-day of the role:
- Perform administrative and clerical duties to support daily transport operations.
- Act as a key liaison between Import Operations and the planning team, ensuring effective communication and coordination of delivery requirements.
- Contact customers to arrange and confirm delivery bookings, balancing customer requirements with operational capacity and fleet availability.
- Ensure delivery appointments are scheduled with fleet planning and route optimisation in mind to maximise vehicle utilisation and service efficiency.
- Process, prepare, and verify all relevant transport and delivery documentation.
- Manage discrepancies, exceptions, and overages, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor delivery performance and proactively manage delays to minimise customer service disruption.
- Work closely with customers, drivers, warehouse teams, and operational departments to ensure the continuous flow of freight.
- Identify and resolve transport-related issues, escalating where appropriate to maintain service levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in transport administration or logistics (preferred).
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in transport management systems (advantageous).
