The Opportunity:
As a Transport Supervisor, you'll play a key role in:

  • Supporting the Logistics Manager with the day to day management of the transport operation while providing leadership cover during periods of absence.
  • Supervising, coaching and supporting the Transport Planner and driver team to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Overseeing daily transport activities including route planning, vehicle loading, dispatch and delivery performance.
  • Monitoring compliance through driver hours, digital tachograph reporting, Working Time Directive requirements and infringement investigations.
  • Coordinating fleet planning, including servicing, MOTs, inspections and defect management to maximise vehicle availability.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, external hauliers and internal departments to ensure an efficient and responsive operation.
  • Supporting audits, continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with Operator Licence requirements and transport legislation.

Your work will directly contribute to delivering a safe, efficient and customer focused transport operation while supporting the continued success and growth of the business.

About You:
We're looking for someone who can bring:

  • Experience within a transport, logistics or fleet supervisory environment, or the ambition and capability to step into a leadership role.
  • A strong understanding of UK transport legislation, Operator Licence compliance and the Working Time Directive.
  • Excellent route planning, operational coordination and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to confidently manage changing priorities within a fast paced transport environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with colleagues, customers and external partners.
  • High levels of resilience, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • A hands on approach with a willingness to support the wider operation when needed.
  • A TM CPC qualification would be advantageous, although support will be available for candidates who are keen to achieve this qualification.
