Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Liverpool who are seeking an Unqualified Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning, behavioural and communication needs within a mainstream primary school. Many of the children require consistent, structured and reliable support to help them engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
The school are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent reliability, punctuality and commitment, as consistency is essential for pupils who thrive through familiar routines and positive relationships.
Suitable backgrounds may include care settings, children's residential services, youth work, healthcare, support work or specialist education, where behaviour management, emotional support and safeguarding are key responsibilities.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and classroom engagement.
- Work alongside the class teacher to adapt learning activities and provide personalised support.
- Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
- Help pupils access the primary curriculum through engaging and differentiated support.
- Maintain a calm, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
- Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils, staff and families.
Essential Experience:
Applicants should have experience supporting children or young people with:
- Additional learning needs.
- Behavioural or emotional regulation needs.
- Speech, language or communication needs.
- Physical or medical needs (desirable).
- Care, residential, youth work or similar support backgrounds.
