Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a VCarve Programmer / CNC Programmer on behalf of our client, a specialist manufacturing and engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that delivers high-quality CNC-machined products to a diverse client base.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, optimising, and maintaining CNC router programs using VCarve software, ensuring efficient machining processes and high-quality production output.

Main Purpose of the Role

To create, develop and optimise CNC router programs using VCarve Pro software, supporting production operations and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create and modify CNC router programs using VCarve Pro.
  • Interpret technical drawings, CAD files and customer specifications.
  • Generate and optimise toolpaths to maximise efficiency and material utilisation.
  • Support CNC machine setup and production activities.
  • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues.
  • Conduct program verification and test runs prior to production.
  • Maintain accurate records of programs, tooling and revision history.
  • Work closely with production, design and engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, health & safety and manufacturing procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with process improvements and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Provide technical support to production teams where required.
  • Contribute towards maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
  • Support training and development initiatives within the business.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience using VCarve Pro within a CNC manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC routing, tooling, feeds and speeds.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
  • Experience machining materials such as wood, MDF, plastics, composites or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Previous experience within signage, furniture manufacturing, shopfitting or bespoke manufacturing environments.

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £35,000 (DOE)
