Vehicle Technician
Location: Epsom
Salary: £36,000 Basic | £44,000 OTE | Top Earners £60,000+
Role Purpose
The Vehicle Technician is responsible for carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and workshop efficiency. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a busy dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles
- Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment
- Complete warranty and repair work in line with manufacturer standards
- Perform vehicle health checks and report additional work required
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and accurately within allocated times
- Maintain accurate job card and service documentation
- Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive workshop environment
- Keep up to date with manufacturer training and technical updates
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic within a dealership or independent garage
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- MOT Licence beneficial but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
