Warehouse Lead South Derbyshire | Permanent | Up to £50,000
SF Recruitment are partnering with a South Derbyshire-based business to recruit a newly created Warehouse & Logistics Lead position. Offering a salary of up to £50,000, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to take ownership of warehouse, inventory, transport, and despatch operations.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead warehouse, stores, goods-in, and despatch functions, ensuring efficient material flow, strong inventory control, and on-time customer delivery, while driving continuous improvements across logistics and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities -Lead all warehouse, stores, goods-in, inventory, and despatch operations, ensuring high levels of stock accuracy and operational efficiency. -Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counting, stock verification, ERP/MRP transactions, and warehouse organisation. -Oversee goods receipt activities, supplier deliveries, material movements, and subcontract processes, maintaining full traceability and documentation. -Ensure the effective picking, kitting, allocation, and control of materials to support production schedules and customer demand. -Manage domestic and international logistics, transport, freight providers, and customer despatch activities to achieve on-time delivery performance. -Ensure all shipping, export, customer, and invoicing documentation is completed accurately and compliantly. -Maintain compliance with quality management systems, material traceability requirements, and audit standards. -Develop KPIs and performance reporting while driving continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations. -Lead, develop, and support warehouse and logistics personnel, ensuring activities are aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.
About You -Significant experience in warehouse, logistics, stores, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or engineering environment. -Strong understanding of inventory management, stock control, and warehouse operations. -Experience managing goods-in, despatch, transport coordination, and material traceability. -Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory transaction control. -Understanding of FIFO, batch control, shelf-life management, and material preservation requirements. -Experience operating within regulated or quality-certified environments. -Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills. -A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on operational excellence and customer service.
