Warehouse Operative
Location: Stoke-On-Trent
Salary: £27,428.18 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
Our client, a well-established distributor within the construction and building products sector, is looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their busy branch team.
This is a varied role supporting day-to-day warehouse operations, stock management, order fulfilment and customer service activities. The successful candidate will also assist with local customer deliveries and branch logistics as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Receive, check and put away incoming stock.
- Load and unload products safely using appropriate handling methods.
- Maintain stock accuracy and assist with cycle counts and stock takes.
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Support goods-in and goods-out processes.
- Assist with trade counter and customer service activities when required.
- Support branch logistics, including customer deliveries and collections.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment checks in line with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
About You
- Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, distribution or logistics environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of health & safety and manual handling procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Customer-focused with good communication skills.
- Flexible approach and willingness to support different areas of the operation.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience carrying out delivery duties or multi-drop work would be advantageous.
Desirable
- FLT licence.
- Experience using warehouse or stock control systems.
- Knowledge of construction, industrial or building products.
