Warehouse Operative / Packer – Permanent Role
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:45 – 16:45, Friday 08:45 – 16:15
Salary: Dependent on experience

The Company
Our client is an established and successful wholesaler of botanical products, supplying businesses across the food, drink, animal feed, cosmetic and herbal medicine sectors worldwide. They are a close-knit business with a strong team culture and are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative / Packer to join their growing operation in Peterborough.
The Role
This is a hands-on warehouse position within a clean, food-grade environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for repacking products, picking and packing customer orders, stock control duties and maintaining high standards of hygiene, accuracy and safety throughout the warehouse. Repacking and bagging products will make up approximately 75% of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Repacking products into smaller quantities, including weighing, bagging and labelling products accurately.
- Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders.
- Building orders to match picking lists and checking batch accuracy.
- Booking goods into stock and ensuring stock records remain accurate.
- Carrying out stock counts and stock control activities.
- Loading and unloading goods using warehouse equipment where required.
- Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, organisation and food hygiene standards.
- Following all health and safety procedures.
- Identifying and suggesting process improvements.
- Supporting colleagues and assisting with general warehouse duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working within a warehouse environment.
- Is physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties, including lifting products weighing up to 25kg.
- Has good numeracy and accuracy skills.
- Is reliable, hardworking and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Has good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Can manage their workload effectively and work to deadlines.
- Is willing to learn and follow company procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Has basic IT skills and an understanding of stock control processes.
Desirable
- Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence.
- Experience working within a food production or food-grade warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of stock control systems.
