Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor (Manufacturing / Stores)

Location: Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0AN

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annum

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Hours: 38 hours per week – Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 12:50

Based in Greater Manchester, Heatrod Elements are the UK's leading manufacturer of heating elements and associated process heating equipment required for industrial heating applications.

About the Role:

We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and stores within a manufacturing environment. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, maintaining safety standards, and supporting efficient material flow to meet production and customer requirements. As part of a small team this is a hands on role so there will be some heavy lifting/carrying involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate warehouse operatives and store personnel
  • Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity targets are met
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Working with the Materials Manager manage inventory levels, stock accuracy, and cycle counts
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of materials
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies

Receiving & Dispatch

  • Oversee goods-in and goods-out processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams

Operational Efficiency

  • Optimise warehouse layout and processes for efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records using ERP/WMS systems
  • Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, picking rates, and inventory turnover

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and legal regulations
  • Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and incident reporting

Equipment & Facilities

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts)
  • Report and manage maintenance issues

About you:

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or stores supervisory role (ideally within manufacturing)
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse processes
  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems
  • Good leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations (desirable)
  • Forklift licence (preferred, depending on requirements)
  • Health & Safety certification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH – preferred)
